Ghanaian international, Salisu Mohammed has deservedly been named in Marca’s team of the week following his impressive showing in defense for Real Valladolid over the weekend.
The young defender was handed a spot in his team’s starting lineup for their opening match of the season against Real Betis. He repaid his manager with an outstanding display at the back which helped his side to beat their opponent 2-1 at the end of 90 minutes.
The 19-year-old showed confidence and good work ethic at the center of his team’s defense and attracted praise from his manager Sergio Gonzalez.
Salisu Mohammed managed to keep Real Betis attackers Nabil Fekir and Borja Inglesias at bay for most parts of the game and largely contributed to the compactness of Valladolid’s backline.
In the team of the week announced by Marca, the Ghanaian is joined by Maripan, Reguilon, and Jesus Navas.
His performance is likely to hand him another start for his side when they take on Real Madrid next weekend.
