The Ghana Football Association (GFA), and the two most glamourous clubs in the country are leading tribute for Sylvester Sackey following the tragic passing of the Legon Cities goalkeeper.
Sackey was confirmed dead on Tuesday in a post by his club following a short illness as they express shock about the sudden demise of the goalkeeper.
In a heartfelt message of condolences, the Ghana FA leader has expressed its deep sorrow and sympathy with Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and other Ghanaian clubs following suit.
"The Football Fraternity was, last night, rocked with the news of the passing of Sylvester Sackey, Goalkeeper of Legon Cities Football club. We, at the Ghana Football Association, extend our heartfelt condolences to our affiliated member, Legon Cities Football Club, and to the family of our late talented footballer."
"We stand with Legon Cities FC and the family in this time of deep loss and grief and pray that you be comforted by the Almighty. It is our hope and prayer that the dearly beloved and departed Sylvester Sackey finds peaceful repose with His Maker."
