Ghana FA Cup: Holders Dreams FC beat Heart of Lions 2-0 to advance to last 16

Defending champions Dreams FC have secure a spot in the last 16 of the Ghana FA Cup competition after edging out Heart of Lions on Sunday.

The two Ghana Premier League outfit locked horns in the round 32 of the FA Cup competition, where the Still Believe lads emerged victorious in the encounter.

The CAF Confederations Cup campaigners inflicted a 2-0 win over the Kpando-based club to secure qualification to the round 16.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.

In a spirited performance after the break, Dreams FC cruised to victory to advance to the next stage of the competition.

Godfred Atuahene opened the scoring for the visitors five minutes into the second half before youngster Abdul Aziz Issah, who has been in stupendous form this season sealed victory in the 86th minute.

Dreams FC will find out their opponents for the next stage in a draw to be held next week.

The Still Believe lads will hope to the defend the title they won last season.
