The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is closely monitoring the progress of Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro, a talented 20-year-old goalkeeper of Ghanaian descent who was born in Amsterdam.

The GFA is reportedly considering a potential call-up for Owusu-Oduro to secure his commitment to the Ghana national team.

Owusu-Oduro has made significant strides in his career, rising through the ranks of AZ Alkmaar's academy to become the club's first-choice goalkeeper this season.

He made his Eerste Divisie debut for Jong AZ on August 26, 2022, against FC Eindhoven. A standout moment in his career came on April 21, 2023, when he saved two penalties in a shootout, helping AZ reach the final of the 2022-23 UEFA Youth League, where they triumphed 5-0 over Hajduk Split.

Owusu-Oduro also made his first-team debut for AZ in a UEFA Europa Conference League match against Legia Warsaw on December 14, 2023. He has represented the Netherlands at the U-20 level, playing in a 2-1 friendly win over France on March 25, 2023.
