General Secretary of Ghana Football Association Prosper Harrison Addo has advised Journalists to be cautious in their reportage to avoid defamation.

Ghana Football Association General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo has advised Journalists to be cautious in their reportage to avoid defamation.

Prosper Harrison Addo, who also heads the ethics committee of the Ghana Football Association urged Sports Journalists to avoid causing harm to other individuals from the reportage.

Sports personalities or Athletes have been on the receiving end with the heavy criticism from Journalists.

“Anything that causes injury to the reputation to someone is defamation,” he said at the BETWAY Sports Journalists Conference.

“We have to be very careful with the way we report issues and stories. We must try and choose our words carefully.

“It is important to stop the stereotyping and be sensitive with our reports.”

Prosper Harrison Addo was a panel together with ace Sports Journalists Maurice Quansah and Michael Oti Adjei.

The three shared their experiences with the Journalists and also issued some words of advice.
