Ghana FA to appoint new technical director soon - Henry Asante Twum

Head of communications for the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum says his outfit is closing in on naming a new technical director.

The role of technical director has been left vacant since Francis Oti Akenteng’s long-term appointment with the GFA was terminated in March.

Six candidates have been shortlisted for teh job by the FA. The list comprises of three local coaches and three expatriates.

After four months, Mr Asante Twum speaking to Citi TV in an interview said the need to conduct a thorough job has slowed the process.

“The process for selecting a technical director is over," he said.

“The team that conducted the interview and went through the various processes, are yet to submit their recommendations and report to the executive council.

“For which reason, a decision will be made as regards the appointment of a new technical director.

“I will call on the general public to give us a few more days to settle on this particular candidate for the job, he concluded,” he added.

Meanwhile, Footballghana.com understands that German trainer, Winfried Schäfer is favourite to land the job.
