Ghana forward Godberg Cooper scores to rescue point for UTA Arad against FC Botosani

In the Romanian Superliga, Ghanaian forward Godberg Barry Cooper secured a crucial point for UTA Arad with a late goal against FC Botosani on Saturday afternoon.

The 26-year-old found the net in stoppage-time, allowing UTA to salvage a 2-2 draw in the tenth round fixture at the Stadionul Municipal in Botosani.

The home team took an early lead in the 30th minute, courtesy of a penalty kick converted by forward Eduard Florescu.

UTA managed to level the score shortly after halftime, with midfielder Catalin Carp finding the back of the net.

Botosani regained the lead in the 52nd minute, thanks to a goal from Croatian forward Miroslav Ilicic, assisted by Nigerian player Adams Friday.

Cooper entered the game as a substitute in the 72nd minute, replacing Marko Stolnik.

In the dying moments of the match, Cooper seized the opportunity, connecting with a pass from midfielder Albert Stahl to score the equalizer seven minutes into added time.

The Italian-Ghanaian forward has now tallied three goals in nine appearances in the Romanian Superliga this season.
