Ghana international Kamal Sowah has hailed Standard Liege’s hard-fought victory over OH Leuven in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League.

Sowah, who is currently on loan at Liege, started and lasted the entire duration as his side cruised to a 2-1 win at the King Power at Den Dreef

Wilfried Kanga gave the Reds the lead at the stroke of half-time with a fine finish but the host responded after the break through Hamza Mendy.

The Ghanaian forward scored the winning goal, three minutes to full time to hand his side an important victory at the weekend. It was his second goal for the campaign after switching during the summer window.

"Plus three points. A big thanx to all the traveling fans for their great support yesterday, a strong team win and we will keep it going," he posted on social media.

Standard Liege will play Club Brugge in their next league game and Sowah is expected to play a huge role for the club.

The former Leicester City player joined Standard Liege on transfer deadline day from Club Brugge.
