Veteran Ghana forward, Kelvin-Prince Boateng was filled with a lot of emotions on Monday night after helping Hertha Berlin to overcome Hamburg to avoid relegation from the German Bundesliga.

The former AC Milan superstar returned to the German Bundesliga club last month after he ended his stay with AC Monza.

Throughout the 2021/22 football season, KP Boateng pushed himself to be involved more but due to injuries, he missed a number of games.

When it mattered most in the playoff to survive the drop, the former Black Stars talisman popped up and put up an outstanding display in the second leg of the clash against Hamburg.

In a game played on Monday night, KP Boateng lasted 89 minutes to lead Hertha Berlin to win 2-1 on aggregate to ensure the team stays in the German Bundesliga.

Speaking in a post-match interview, KP Boateng said he is excited even more than he was when he won a league title in his career.

"I'll be honest, the whole year went up and down so much, and now it's…as if we were champions. I didn't even have that when I became champion,” KP Boateng said.

Meanwhile, KP Boateng is unsure of his future at Hertha Berlin. He wants to make considerations during the holidays before taking a concrete decision.
