Ghanaian international Raphael Dwamena was in top form for KF Egnatia in their UEFA Conference League second leg tie against Ararat Armenia on Thursday.

The former Black Stars striker bagged a brace in the encounter but his outfit got eliminated from the qualifiers after failing to win the game on penalties.

Dwamena forced the game penalties after hitting the back of the net twice in extra-time as the game ended 4-4.

Prior to the return leg, Egnatia had recorded a 1-1 stalemate in Armenia with Dwamena scoring his outfit goal in the clash.

After a 5-5 aggregate scoreline from both legs, the game had to be decided from the spot, where Dwamena’s outfit European adventure came to an end as two of his teammates blew their kicks away.

Egnatia shot into the lead through Fernando Medeiros after just four minutes into the match but Wilfried Eza leveled pegging for the visitors in the 17th minute.

Redi Kasa scored to restore Egnatia lead in the 36th minute but Adriano Castanheira equalized to force the game to extra-time.

The Armenian club then found the back of the net twice through Tenton Yenne and Jose Julio and were on the verge of securing a 4-2 away win but the Ghana international rose to the occasion with a brace, forcing the game to penalties.
