Ghana international Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has indicated that playing for Spanish club Elche and scoring against Real Madrid remains the best moment of his football career.

The former Black Stars forward proved his prowess by scoring in Elche's narrow 2-1 home defeat to giants Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga back in 2013.

Boakye-Yiadom climbed off the bench to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo's 51st minute goal for Madrid on the 90th minute mark.

But when all thought Elche were going to have a share of the spoils, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the match winner from the spot in the sixth minute of added on time.

Speaking after completing move to Malaysian side Selangor FC, the experienced attacker indicated scoring against Ronaldo’s Real Madrid at the time remains the best moment of his career.

“Playing against Real Madrid and scoring to cancel out Ronaldo’s goal is my memorable moment of my career. In fact, it was very nice to score against Real Madrid and Ronaldo”

The 30-year-old forward, who recently became a free agent, agreed to a six-month deal with Selangor FC, aiming to bolster the team's bid for the Malaysia Super League championship during the second half of the season.

Selangor FC currently sits in the second position on the league table, and Boakye-Yiadom's arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to the team's attacking prowess.

Boakye-Yiadom's previous club was Al Akhdar, where he made 11 appearances and netted three goals across various competitions in Libya.

Over the course of his career, he has featured for prominent Italian clubs such as Genoa, Sassuolo, Juventus, Atalanta, and Latina. Boakye-Yiadom's journey then led him to Serbia, where he joined Red Star Belgrade.
