Ghana has a good defense but the goalkeeping department needs improvement – J.E Sarpong

Veteran Ghanaian coach, J.E Sarpong has cited the goalkeeping department of the Black Stars as a weak link ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.

According to him, although the defense has proved to be strong in the past year, the goalkeeping department still requires improvement.

“Our defence has stood the test of time and is likely to improve as time goes on. Goalkeeping is quite stable but needs improvement,” J.E Sarpong told Graphic Sports.

Ghana will be one of five African countries that will feature at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars have been pitted in Group H and will face off with the likes of Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.

Coach Otto Addo is expected to have the chance to play a few friendly matches with Ghana next month.

The friendlies will help the gaffer to assess players he will be taking to this year’s mundial in Qatar.
