Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan scores for Fiorentina against AC Milan

Published on: 31 March 2024

Former Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan found the back of the net for Fiorentina, but his goal was not enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat to AC Milan in the Italian Serie A clash.

Duncan, aged 31, equalized for Fiorentina in the 50th minute following Ruben Loftus-Cheek's opener for Milan shortly after halftime.

However, Rafael Leão swiftly restored Milan's lead, securing the victory over Fiorentina.

Despite the loss, Fiorentina maintains their 10th position in the Serie A standings with 43 points from 29 matches, with their focus now shifting to the upcoming Coppa Italia semi-final against Atalanta on April 3rd.

Alfred Duncan has been a significant asset for Fiorentina this season, contributing two goals and five assists in 24 league appearances, showcasing his impact on the team's performances.

It is noteworthy that Duncan retired from international duty with Ghana's Black Stars in 2022, saying his decision was borne out of alleged discrimination and unfair treatment by leaders of the team.
