Ghana midfielder Alhassan Wakaso delighted to join Victoria Guimareas

Ghana midfielder Alhassan Wakaso says he is elated to join Portuguese side Victoria Guimares after penning a three year deal with the club.

The 24 year old joined from French Ligue 2 side Lorient after just eight months in France. Wakaso struggled at the French side as he could not command a starting role with the club eventually being relegated to the lower divisions.

Meanwhile Wakaso returns to Portugal having played for Rio Ave and Portimonense in the past.

The junior brother of Deportivo Alaves midfielder Mubarak Wakaso said on his arrival at Victoria Guimaraes he was have to be back in Portugal.

“I am very happy to be here and i hope to achieve great things for the clubs and it’s fans,”he told club official website.

“It’s a very big club and I am here to achieve with the club and I hope to help to the grow big. This is going to help me,” he added.

Wakaso will be with the club until 2020.
