Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah sustained an injury in Besiktas' 2-1 win over Goztepe in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday.

The 26-year-old was forced off injured at half-time with Adem Ljajic taking his place as his side came from behind to seal all three points at the Vodafone Park.

It is yet to be determined the extent of his injury but the former Atletico Madrid player will under some medical examinations in the coming days.

Six minutes before the half-time break, the visitors took the lead through Zlatko Tripic who powered the ball past goalkeeper Ersin Destanoglu after Peter Zulj’s initial effort had rattled the crossbar.

After the recess, the hosts equalised through Ljajic in the 49th minute before Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar bagged the match-winner for the Black Eagles in the 77th minute.

Mensah is currently on loan from Kayserispor and has made 18 appearances for Besiktas in the Super Lig, scoring four and providing an assist.
