Ghana midfielder Daniel Kofi-Kyereh marks Europa League debut in Freiburg’s 2-1 win over Qaarabag FK

Ghana midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh made his debut in the UEFA Europa League competition as Freiburg defeated Qarabag FK in the Group stage opener.

The 26-year-old climbed off the bench to help Freiburg beat the Azerbaijani side 2-1 on home turf on Thursday night.

Kyereh after missing the sides league game against Bayer Leverkusen made a return to the squad.

He was introduced in the 71st minutes as Freiburg cruised to victory at the Europa-Park Stadion.

Two quick-fire goals from Vicenzo Grifo and Doan Ritsu gave Freiburg a two-goal lead after 15 minutes.

Qarabag pulled one back through Marko Vesovic after connecting to a pass from Ghanaian forward Kwabena Owusu.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh joined Freiburg in the summer transfer window and has made five appearances across all competitions.
