Ghana international, Elisah Owusu has stressed that he is happy to be fit again and playing football.

The midfielder suffered a devastating injury during the 2022/23 football season and missed a number of games after signing for AJ Auxerre in the January window.

After six months, he is fit and started the first match of the season for his team over the past weekend.

In a game against Valenciennes in the French Ligue 2, the Black Stars midfielder put up a fantastic display to help his team to secure a 4-1 win.

Speaking after the game, Elisha Owusu disclosed that he was motivated because he wanted to play as if he just signed for AJ Auxerre.

“Yes, it's been a great week. After being sidelined for a long time, coming back to a victory with style was the best! In addition, I had no apprehension on the physical level. I had managed a good preparation by filling up with confidence. So this match in Valenciennes was the icing on the cake. And that allowed me to leave this injury last month.

“And there was even excitement! I wanted to approach the game like a player who has just signed his first pro contract and who is discovering the pro group,” Elisha Owusu said.

The fit-again midfielder is confident that with hard work, the club will return to the French Ligue 1 at the end of the season.
