Ghana international Majeed Ashimeru was named Man of the Match in Anderlecht’s away victory over OH Leuven in the Belgium Jupiler Pro league.

The Black Stars midfielder started the game and lasted 69 minutes as Anderlecht inflicted a 2-0 win against OH Leuven at the King Power at Den Dreef Stadion on Sunday.

The former Red Bull Salzburg star put up an impressive show to propel his outfit to victory in the encounter.

Goals from Islam Slimani and Kristian Arnstad ensured Anderlecht return to the Lotto Park with the three maximum points.

The 25-years-old is enjoying an amazing campaign with the Belgium giants, scoring two goals and providing three assists in the Belgium top-flight.

Ashimeru is expected to play a huge role for the Black Stars in the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola.

The midfielder returns to the Black Stars squad after missing out in the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Ghana will host Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.

Ghana leads the qualifying group after a draw and a win in their first two games, but Angola is close behind, and two wins will give the Black Stars a solid chance to qualify
