Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru on target to help Red Bull Salzburg see off Austria Vienna

Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru found the back of the net on Saturday afternoon to help his Red Bull Salzburg side thrash Austria Vienna 4-1 in the Austrian Bundesliga.

In a pulsating game that produced five goals, it was the away side that took the lead at the Red Bull Arena when defender Albert Vallci scored an own goal in an unfortunate circumstance.

Majeed Ashimeru showed his class 30 minutes later with a neat strike to pull parity for his side with an assist from Sekou Koita.

The provider of the first goal then went on to score a goal of his own to give Red Bull the lead for the first time on the day.

A third goal from Sekou Koita on the 43rd minute together with a strike from Masaya Okugawa completed a resounding victory to give the home fans plenty to cheer about.

Majeed Ashimeru, formerly of WAFA played the entire duration of the match and will be looking forward to adding to his tally of 2 goals in subsequent matches.
