Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has penned a fresh two-year deal with Belgian heavyweights RSC Anderlecht, gearing up for the upcoming 2024–25 season.

The 26-year-old, who had one year remaining on his existing contract, opted to extend his stay despite interest elsewhere.

Ashimeru, who arrived at Anderlecht in 2021 from Red Bull Salzburg for a reported fee of €1.5 million, has been pivotal in midfield for the club.

His new contract, securing him until 2027, reflects Anderlecht's commitment to building around his talents.

A club statement confirmed the extension, stating: “Majeed Ashimeru has extended his contract with RSC Anderlecht until 2027. The Ghanaian midfielder has thus signed for two extra seasons.”

Despite injury setbacks limiting his appearances to 12 last season, Ashimeru has made a significant impact since joining, amassing over 100 appearances and becoming a linchpin in midfield.

“In the last three seasons at RSC Anderlecht, I have grown as a player and as a person. I’m very grateful to both the club and the fans for their continued support over the past years,” Ashimeru told the club's official website.
