Ghanaian international, Mubarak Wakaso featured for Deportivo Alavés as they beat lower division side Racing Santander 1-0 in pre-season to lift the Villa de Laguardia Trophy.
The player has been at the center of several transfer rumors which has linked him with a potential move away from the club.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, he was called upon to take charge of the team’s midfield on Saturday when they engaged Racing Santander in the pre-season cup match.
The winners took the lead on the 13th minute after they were awarded a penalty kick. Mubarak Wakaso played in midfield for 61 minutes before he was substituted.
Despite his impressive outing on the day, it is still unclear whether he will stay on and play in the Spanish La Liga with Alavés or he will be transferred to a different club.
