Ghana new coach Chris Hughton's late father laid to rest in the UK

Ghana new coach, Chris Hughton’s late father, Willie Hughton has been laid to rest in the United Kingdom.

The newly appointed Black Stars coach lost his Ghanaian father, who based in London in February 2023.

However, on Wednesday, March 15, Chris Hughton laid his father to rest in London, which was attended by a lot of dignitaries in the European country.

The final funeral rite of Willie Hughton was attended by staff of Ghana’s High Commission in UK and members of the Ghanaian community in London.

After laying his father to rest, the former Brighton manager is expected to arrive in Ghana on Thursday ahead of his unveiling on Monday, March 20.

Hughton has already announced his 25-man squad for the clash against Angola next week.

The four-time African champions will play host to Angola on March 23 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse fixture in Luanda on March 27.

The Black Stars lead Group E of the qualifiers with four points, followed by Angola who are also on four points before Central African Republic and Madagascar follow in that order.
