Former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, has emphasized that the Ghana Premier League is not as bad as people think.

In the last decade, many have bemoaned the lack of quality in the local leagues with many attributing the phenomenon to lack of structures and player exodus.

In the past year since the Kurt Okraku administration assumed office, the local league has seen some revival with the 2019/2021 football season attracting massive attention.

Making reference to Ghanaian players in Europe and other things, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong says the local league is good and deserve mentioning.

“The quality of Ghana league is worth mentioning. Ghana's league for that matter local Football is not as bad as people say”, the former NPP general secretary who has ties to football said in an interview with Oyerepa FM.

Kwabena Agyei Agyapong continued, “The quality of play is not bad, those playing in Europe are not much better than our boys.

“Our boys walk straight into the European teams and that should tell us we are not bad”.
