Ghana Premier League: Kosta Papic meet Hearts of Oak playing body

Published on: 02 December 2020

Kosta Papic has met the playing body of Accra Hearts of Oak following his appointment as the head coach of the club.

The 60-year-old was reappointed as the head coach of the club on Monday.

Papic returns to the capital-based club eleven years after leading them to the 2008/09 Ghana Premier League title during his one-year stint with the club.

Prior to his appointment, Coach Edward Nii Odoom had been steering the Phobian wheel following the sack of ex-Ghana international Kim Grant in December last year, but it appears he has been demoted to handle the youth side of the club, Auroras, with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Kosta Papic will be assisted by former Berekum Chelsea gaffer Joseph Asare Bediako.

The Serbian was spotted at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday when Hearts lost 0-1 to Inter Allies.

The Serbian trainer’s first assignment will be to lead the Phobians, who have tasted a loss and a draw in the domestic league, against league leaders Karela United on matchday four of the Ghanaian topflight on Friday.

The Phobians are occupying the bottom of the Premier League log with just 1 point.
