Ghana Premier League: Salifu Ibrahim blames Bofoakwa Tano draw on playing away in Sogakope

Hearts of Oak midfielder Salifu Ibrahim believes Hearts of Oak playing their home games away at the WAFA Park in Sogakope played a part in their draw against Bofoakwa Tano.

The Phobians gave up a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 at full time on Monday in a Ghana Premier League match week 20 clash.

Speaking after the game, Salifu, who scored the Phobians goal and was named man of the match, said they would have attracted more fans in Accra than they got in Sogakope.

“On paper, we are playing at home, but we it is not our usual Accra Sports Stadium home. The supporters we would have gotten in Accra, we didn’t get them like that here in Sogakope.”

The Phobians’ two-game winning streak has come to an end under new head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, leaving them still 8th after the draw.

Meanwhile, the draw has done no good to Bofoakwa Tano’s relegation fight, leaving them still second from bottom on the league log.
