Ghana Premier League title race still open, Kotoko must be vigilant – Felix Annan

Former Asante Kotoko captain Felix Annan has cautioned the Porcupine Warriors to be vigilant in the battle of the Ghana Premier League title.

The two-time African Champions has been impressive in the ongoing campaign and are on course to annex the domestic top-flight for the first time in about 8-years.

Kotoko are 8 points clear at the top with 49 points after 23 matches into the campaign.

In an interview with ghanasportspage.com, Annan, who currently plies his trade for American side Maryland Bobcats FC has called on Kotoko players to stay focus in order to annex the title at the end of the season.

“I follow them [Asante Kotoko] every time. I speak with the boys every now and then, I still have contacts to them and we talk from time to time”, Annan told ghanasportspage.com.

“It’s true they’ve stretched the lead [on the league log] but they still have to be vigilant because the league is not over and points difference is very close, so they have to keep their focus so they wrap it up. But I hope they are able to win the league this year”, he urged.

Asante Kotoko will lock horns with sworn-rivals Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday in matchday 24 of the league.
