Asamoah Gyan has spoken on Ghana's qualification chances after the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] draw.

The Confederations of African Football [Caf] on Tuesday held the draw for the continent most prestigious tournament in Cameroon.

The ex- Sunderland and Udinese forward joined the likes of likes Samuel Eto'o, Didier Drogba and Raber Majer to conduct the draw for the tournament.

Ghana after the draw has been paired in Group C of the next Africa Cup of Nations, against Morocco, Gabon and Comoros with their first opening game on January 10 in the capital city.

In an interview with CAF, the country's all-time top scorer has labelled his country's group as a tricky one but has still advised them to offer all they could cruise from the group.

“I think it’s a tricky group. Morocco is up there, I think they conceded just one goal in the qualifiers which statistically is one of the strongest in the group,” Gyan, a former Ghana captain told CAFonline.

“Ghana is also up there, but everyone who has qualified for the African Cup of Nations is there to win it.

"Statistically, we’re up there but we don’t know what’s going to happen. We just have to stay focus and do what we can do to qualify from this group.

Asamoah Gyan, 35, is very experienced when it comes to playing the continental championship having scored in six out of the seven AFCON competitions he's played.

Coach C.K Akonnor’s side will play their first two matches in Yaoundé before travelling up North to Garoua for the final Group C encounter.

The Black Stars are in search of their first Africa Cup of Nations title since 1982 and Coach Akonnor has been tasked to end the forty–two-year trophy in Cameroon.

The 2021 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled for Cameroon from Sunday, January 9 to Sunday, February 6, 2022.
