Ghana forward Inaki Williams is hoping to recover in time to feature against Espanyol on Sunday in the bid of maintaining his consecutive games record in the Spanish La Liga.

The new Black Stars striker sprained his ankle, his first injury since 2016 on Monday when Bilbao inflicted a 4-0 win over the home team.

He scored the opening goal and missed a penalty before he was forced off the pitch. He was substituted in the 54th minute.

The 28-year-old record of most consecutive games in the Spanish La Liga is in jeopardy due to the injury setbacks.

Inaki Williams holds a record winning streak of 236 in the Spanish top-flight.

Meanwhile, the forward could make his Ghana debut in September when they face Brazil in friendly.
