Ghana striker Inaki Williams smashes La Liga record

Ghana international, Inaki Williams broke a Spanish La Liga record last Thursday when he featured for Athletic Bilbao in the match against Real Betis.

In what was the final match in 2022 for his club, the forward started in attack for his club alongside his younger brother Nico Williams.

At the end of the La Liga match, Inaki Williams smashed two La Liga records held by two former players of giants Real Madrid.

Before his appearance in that match, ex-Los Blancos stars Ipiña and Di Stéfano held the La Liga record for playing in the most consecutive games.

The duo between 1955 to 196O played for Real Madrid for five consecutive years.

However, Inaki Williams has surpassed that feat and has now played six straight years for Athletic Bilbao.

During that period, the attacker has played in every single Spanish La Liga match for his club.

Athletic Bilbao has benefited from his ability to stay fit in league matches played in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

In 2023, he looks even fitter and could go on to extend the record.
