Ghana striker Kwabena Owusu nets brace to help Qarabag to come from behind to beat Zira 3-2

Ghana international, Kwabena Owusu netted a brace on Thursday afternoon to help Qarabag come from behind to defeat Zira FK3-2 in the Azerbaijani Premier League.

On the matchday, the visitors had a bright start to the game and took the lead after just two minutes when Agabala Ramazanov fired in his effort.

While no goals came before the break, Zira produced another shock after recess when they scored again in the 47th minute courtesy of a strike from Lazar Dordevic.

Now losing, Qarabag had to inject urgency into their play in a bid to fight for at least a point.

In the 57th minute, Mahir Emreli scored to half the deficit for the home team before striker Kwabena Owusu stole the show.

The Ghana striker scored in the 83rd minute to restore parity for Qarabag before netting the winning goal in the 89th minute to hand his team a 3-2 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

Today’s brace means that Kwabena Owusu has scored five goals this season for the Azerbaijani side and has two assists to his name as well.
