Ghana to open camp ahead of 2022 World Cup in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 10

Black Stars of Ghana will commence camping on Thursday, November 10, 2022 ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The West African country will pitch camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as coach Otto Addo look to fine tune his squad for the global showpiece which commences on November 20.

While camping in Arab country, Ghana will take on Switzerland in an international friendly before their opening match.

This will be the first time both sides will be meeting. The game will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at the Baniyas Club Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The match will give coach Otto Addo a perfect opponent for the Group H opener against Portugal at the 974 stadium.

Black Stars make a return to the tournament after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia and have been drawn in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Ghana will take on Portugal in their first game in Group H on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup takes place between November 20 and December 18

Only three sides from the continent have ever progressed to the quarter-finals; Cameroon in 1990, Senegal in 2002, and Ghana in 2010.
