Former Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, believes the country will annex trophies if the recently launched football DNA is well implemented.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) last week announced that all of the country’s youth national teams will adopt a similar playing style through the effective implementation of the football DNA.

And according to the former WAFA head trainer, he is confident in Ghana’s ability to succeed on the global stage with a well implementation of the DNA.

“Of course. If we do the development well, trophies will come automatically. It will be effortless," he told Citi Sports.

"The development is like building a house. When you get the foundation right, the rest becomes relatively easier.

"If we are able to get our developmental football well established, I think at the elite level it will be relatively easier for us to excel.”

By embracing a unified playing style through the implementation of the football DNA, Ghana aims to create a strong foundation for its future football stars, thus increasing the likelihood of achieving prestigious trophies and recognition on the global stage.

Ghana’s most recent significant football triumph came in the form of the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations held in Mauritania.

The Black Satellites emerged victorious in the tournament under the guidance of Head Coach Abdul Karim Zito.
