Ghana winger Fatawu Issahaku expresses joy after winning Leicester City’s Men’s Young Player of the Season award

Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his joy after being crowned Leicester City's Men’s Younger Player of the Season award.

The 20-year-old Black Stars winger, who is loan from Sporting Lisbon was pivotal in the Foxes quick return to the English Premier League.

Issahaku has racked up six goals and provided 13 assists in 39 games across competitions this season.

The Ghanaian youngster made his club debut in the Championship just three days after signing, coming on as a 54th-minute substitute in a 1–0 home loss to Hull City and has since established himself as a key member of the team.

His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed as he clinches the Young Player of the Season prize.

However, the former Steadfast FC attacker has taken to social media to express his joy for winning the prestigious accolade. He also showed appreciation to his teammates and management of the club for their support.

“It was an honour and a privilege to receive this amazing award. I want to thank my team mate and the managements for their support and encouragement throughout the season, and all the foxes 🦊.I am so grateful to everyone who has always been a part of my journey. Thank you” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Issahaku is expected to seal a permanent move from Sporting Lisbon to Leicester City for a fee around 17 million Euros.
