Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will no longer feature in the English FA Cup competitions after suffering elimination with Leicester City in the quarterfinals.

The Black Stars winger could not inspire the Foxes to progress at the expense of Chelsea in the quarterfinals of the Cup competition on Sunday.

Issahaku started and lasted 63 minutes as his side succumbed to a 4-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The Premier League giants scored two late goals in the highly competitive clash to secure qualification to the semifinals.

Chelsea opened the scoring through Marc Cucurella after just 13 minutes into the game before Cole Palmer doubled the advantage for the host before the halftime break.

The English Championship side staged a comeback in the second half to cancel out Chelsea’s two lead in the game.

Leicester City pulled one back in the 51st minute following an own goal from Axel Disasi before Stephy Mavididi scored in the 62nd minute to level the pegging for the visitors.

But two late goals in injury time from Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke ensured Chelsea secure victory over the Championship club.

Having edged out Leicester City, the Blues will now lock horns with fellow Premier League club Manchester City in the semifinals of the Cup competition.

Leicester City will now focus on the Championship campaign as they seek to secure qualification back to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Issahaku has been instrumental for the Foxes since his arrival in the summer, racking up three goals and providing 10 assists in 31 games in the Championship.

The 20-year-old has been named in the Black Stars squad for the upcoming friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda and will now head to Ghana to join the team for the games.
