Ghana forward Joseph Painstil was named Man of the Match when LA Galaxy shared the spoils with St Louis City in the Major League Soccer.

Paintsil was called to action on Sunday and played a huge role as his side played out a 3-3 draw at the Dignity Health Sports Park.

Putting on a stellar performance, the former Genk star registered his name on the scoresheet to propel his side snatch a point on home turf.

He was in fine form for LA Galaxy in the encounter, tormenting the defense of St Louis City with his surging runs.

LA Galaxy spurned several chances created by former KRC Genk forward before Japanese midfielder Maya Yoshida scored late to salvage a point for the host.

He has scored two goals in four appearances so far for LA Galaxy in the MLS.

Paintsil missed out on the Black Stars squad for the upcoming friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda due to immigration issues.

Otto Addo, who has made a sensational return for a second spell with the Black Stars has released a 26-man squad for the two friendlies.

The 26-year-old winger is one of the key players excluded from the team for the two friendly games this month.

However, the Ghana Football Association has explained his omission from the squad for the March international break.

“As a result of his move to the United States, there are some further immigration documentation procedures he must embark upon which is why he is unable to travel outside the United States until the process is completed” the FA wrote on social media explaining Joseph Paintsil omission.

Ghana will take on the Super Eagles on March 22 before facing the Cranes of Uganda on March 26 in Morocco.
