Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil disappointed after Genk failed to secure Europa Conference League knockout stage berth

Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has expressed his disappointment after Genk failed to secure qualification to the knockout phase of the Europa Conference League.

The Black Stars winger started and played 84 minutes in his outfit last group game of the Conference League on Thursday.

Painstil recovered from a penalty miss to score as his outfit inflicted a 2-0 home win over Serbian club Cukaricki.

Despite the victory, Genk have bowed out of the Conference League after finishing third in Group F.

After the game, Painstil took to social media to express his disappointment following his outfit elimination from the Conference League.

“Disappointed we couldn’t make it to the next stage but there is a lot ahead to fight for. Thank you #genkies for the support. 🔵” he wrote on X.

The 25-year-old Ghanaian winger scored two goals and provided one assist in five games during the group stages.
