Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil hails Genk’s team spirit after hard-fought stalemate against Ferencvaros in ECL

Ghana international Joseph Paintsil has hailed KRC Genk’s magnificent team spirit following his outfit hard-fought draw against Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The Black Stars winger was handed a starting role in his outfit 1-1 stalemate against the Hungarian club on Thursday night.

Paintsil delivered a descent performance when his side secured a vital away point against their opponent at the Groupama Aréna.

The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net in thrilling encounter.

After the halftime break, the host broke the deadlock through Aleksandar Pesic two minutes into the second half but Genk fought-back to snatch a point after Daniel Munoz found the back of the net in the 62nd minute.

“Great team spirit last night. We shall keep fighting. Vamos #genkies! I appreciate the reception from my former club as well.🙏” he wrote on X.

The Black Stars winger has racked up five goals and four assists in 20 games across competitions this campaign.
