Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil picks up injury Genk’s narrow defeat to Royal Antwerp

Ghana international Joseph Paintsil picked up injury while in action for KRC Genk in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League on Sunday.

The winger, who has been in a rich vein of form started when his side faced Royal Antwerp but could not last for the entire duration after suffering a shoulder injury.

The 25-year-old was replaced in the 81st minute by Angelo Preciado due to the injury setback.

Gyrano Kerk's 57th minute strike earned victory for Royal Antwerp as they continue their recent run of form in the Belgium league.

"Painful defeat yesterday with an unfortunate shoulder injury. Thanks for the well-wishing messages. Hoping to be back stronger," wrote Paintsil on Twitter.

Paintsil will undergo a scan on Monday to determine the extent of his injury.
