Ghana winger, Joseph Paintsil was racially abused by a Los Angeles Football Club fan in their game against El Trafico in the Major League Soccer.

The derby clash between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles Football Club ended in a 2-1 loss with the former KRC Genk winger playing the full minutes of the game.

The 26-year-old completed two of six dribble attempts passed the ball accurately 28 out of 31 times and won eight of 17 ground duels in the contest.

However, following the defeat, a fan of the club posted a racist message on Paintsil’s Instagram page when reacting to a “story” from the Black Stars player.

The individual posted “Mon Key couldn’t do anything today” and added a laughing emoji to the message which drew widespread condemnation in the comment section of the social media platform Reddit.

Paintsil has two goals and two assists in seven MLS games since joining the side.
