Ghana international, Joseph Paintsil was in action for KRC Genk on Sunday evening and helped the team to beat Gent 3-2 in the Belgian Pro League.

The in-form winger started for his team in the away match as the side attempted to bag three points to extend their lead at the top of the Belgian league standings.

Unfortunately, for Joseph Paintsil and his teammates, they had a slow start to today’s game and conceded after just nine minutes into the first half.

A good strike from Hong Hyunseok handed Gent a deserved lead as the home side sent the stadium into a frenzy amid loud cheers from the home crowd.

Pegged behind, Genk did not go down without a fight and pilled pressure on the hosts.

Eventually, in the 23rd minute, the away team had a breakthrough. It was no other person than in-form forward Joseph Paintsil who equalised to restore parity to the game.

Later in the second half, three goals were scored.

First, a strike from Yira Sor helped Genk to lead 2-1 before Tolu Arokodare made it 3-1.

Although Laurent Depoitre would net a second goal for Gent, the team succumbed to a 3-2 defeat at the end of the 90 minutes.
