Ghana wraps up September international break with win against Nicaragua

The Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, defeated Nicaragua 1-0 in an international friendly match.

The national team nicknamed the Black Stars locked horns with the Central American outfit in the second friendly match played in the September international break.

Before today’s game, Ghana faced off with Brazil last Friday in a game played in Le Havre, France.

In a game where the Brazilians dominated play throughout the contest, Ghana lost 3-0 at the end of the 90 minutes.

Today, the Black Stars followed up with another friendly against Nicaragua with the aim of improving on the second-half performance from the last match.

Having gone into the game as the favourites, Ghana dominated the first half and led at the break.

It was thanks to a powerful solitary strike from Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in the 34th minute.

After recess, the Black Stars continued to play well and cruised to a 1-0 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

The win over Nicaragua wraps up the two friendly matches for the September international break.

Later in November, Ghana will play another friendly match before travelling to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
