Ghanaian international, Nana Opoku Ampomah is staying put at Royal Antwerp this summer despite efforts to offload him to another club.

The former Waasland-Beveren poster boy joined the Belgian Jupiler Pro League club last season from German outfit Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Despite limited amount of playing time, he still managed to show glimpses of his quality and why he could become a star for Royal Antwerp.

In pre-season ahead of the start of the 2021/2022 football season, Nana Opoku Ampomah did well but could not win over head coach Brian Priske.

As a result, the gaffer and officials of the club agreed that Nana Ampomah should be sold this summer.

Although a few clubs showed interest, no agreement was reached for the transfer of the Ghanaian forward and hence, he is staying at Royal Antwerp at least for the first round of the new season.

In the next few months, he must work hard in training and take advantage of the chances that may come his way to prove to critics that he has the quality to be a key man for Royal Antwerp.
