English lower division side Chorley FC have completed the signing of Ghanaian youngster John Cofie, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has joined the Magpies lads from Southport FC on an initial one month loan deal.

The Ghanaian striker came through the youth ranks at Burnley before being snapped up by Manchester United at just 14-year-old for a reputed £1m.

At Old Trafford he played in the same youth sides as Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Ravel Morrison, and represented England at Under 17 level on three occasions.

Cofie failed to make the grade with The Red Devils and following loan spells with Royal Antwerp, Sheffield United and Notts County he went on to sign for Barnsley, Molde (Norway), Crawley Town, Wrexham and AFC Telford United.
