The Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fianoo has advised clubs to respect their fans to be able to draw more spectators to the stadium.

Poor attendances have been recorded in this year’s Ghana Premier League raising a lot of concerns for stakeholders.

Even big clubs Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have complained about low attendance at home matches.

In an interview, the former Ashantigold chief advocated for respect from clubs to their supporters in order to win them back to the stadium.

According to him, some clubs have disrespected their fans in recent time, leaving them to stay back from the club’s activities.

“Supporters plays huge role in the activities of clubs. The clubs must let the fans know that without them they cannot thrive. When you compare gate proceeds at the end of the season, it’s higher than what the Ghana FA and their sponsors will give them”

“Ask why the fans have not been going to the stadium, it could be mutual respect. The fans have been paying gate fees so they need to be respected. The clubs must the fans know they have role to play” he said.
