Following a disappointing 2-3 defeat against Hertha BSC, FC Magdeburg is dealing with the repercussions of defensive lapses as they gear up for a crucial showdown with relegation rivals Schalke.

Coach Christian Titz's squad is determined to rectify their recent setback by prioritizing error minimization in their upcoming encounter.

Addressing the defensive shortcomings, German-born Ghanaian defender Daniel Heber emphasized the collective responsibility within the team.

In an interview with Bild, Heber recognized the recurring defensive mistakes, attributing them to a series of individual and collective breakdowns during the season.

"Football is a sport with mistakes. But we have to work on avoiding such mistakes," Heber remarked.

While acknowledging the need for improvement, Heber underscored the team's commitment to their distinctive style of play, albeit one that carries inherent risks.

"We have our style of play, and it's also risky. We still don't want to deviate from it because it's good," Heber stated.

Daniel Heber has made 21 appearances in the German Bundesliga 2 this season.
