German-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Köhn has become the latest addition to Galatasaray, marking his place as the 201st foreign player to grace the club's illustrious history.

Hailing from Hannover 96, Köhn's transfer not only solidifies his position as a pivotal asset but also highlights Galatasaray's rich tradition of embracing talent from across the globe.

Since the inception of the Turkish 1st Football League in 1959, Galatasaray has actively recruited talent from diverse backgrounds, boasting a squad that spans six continents and comprises players from 52 different countries.

With the recent interim transfers of Brazilian Carlos Vinicius and Ivorian Serge Aurier, Galatasaray had reached the milestone of 200 foreign players. However, Köhn's arrival elevates this figure to an impressive 201.

Köhn's contract runs until the end of the 2025/2026 season. Galatasaray has the option to extend it until the end of the 2027/2028 season.

Accordingly, Köhn will be paid a net seasonal fee of 300,000 euros for the 2023/2024 season, a net 450,000 euros for the 2024/2025 season, and a net 500,000 euros for the 2025/2026 season, as well as a one-time signing fee of 50,000 euros.
