Ghanaian defender Edwin Frimpong Manso helps St. George to clinch second consecutive Ethiopian Premier League title

Ghanaian defender Edwin Frimpong Manso has helped St. George SA to clinch the Ethiopian Premier League for the second time running.

The former Kotoko player was in action on Sunday when his side inflicted a 2-0 win over Hadiya Hossana in the penultimate game of the campaign.

Manso started and lasted the entire duration as his secured victory as they claimed a record extending 31st league title with a game to spare.

Despite having a game at hand, St George have won the league title as the results in the final round of games will not have any effect on them.

Ethiopia international midfielder Chernet Gugsa shot St George into the lead in the 21st minute mark after connecting from Natnael Zeleke pass.

Few minutes into the second half, Togo striker Ismail Ouro-Agoro found the back of the net to seal victory for St George as they cruised to victory.

The former Liberty Professionals has enjoyed an amazing season with the Ethiopian club, making 28 appearances out of 30. He has four goals and one assist in the process.

St. George lead the league standings with 63 points after 29 matches, scoring 53 goals and conceding 20.
