Ghanaian defender Gideon Jung helps Greuther Furth hammer Paderborn in Bundesliga 2 opener

Germany-born Ghanaian defender Gideon Jung was in full time action for Greuther Furth as they put up a powerful performance to defeat Paderborn 07 in the Bundesliga 2 opening day.

The 28-year-old produced an impressive performance as his side inflicted a resounding 5-0 win over Paderborn on Sunday afternoon.

Swedish international Branimir Hrgota and Tim Lemperle combined to put their outfit into a comfortable lead in the first half.

Hrgota opened the floodgate for Greuther Furth in the 35th minute before Tim Lemperle found the back of the net to extend their lead. Before recces, Hrgota scored again to seal a 3-0 first half win for the home team.

Improved performance saw Greuther Furth grab two more goals in the second half as they cruised to a convincing 5-0 win against Paderborn 07.

Armindo Sieb and Damian Michalski fired home in the 65th and 77th minute respectively to propel the home team to a massive victory.

Meanwhile, compatriot, Sirlord Conteh made substitute appearance but was unable to save his side from defeat. He was introduced before the start of the second half.
