Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah delivers assist in Liverpool’s EFL Cup win over Leicester City

Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah was in fine form when Liverpool defeated Leicester City in the Round 3 fixture of the EFL Cup.

The English-born Ghanaian started and lasted the entire duration in his outfit 3-1 home win over the Championship club on Wednesday.

Quansah made a good account of himself, serving an assist to help his side advance to the next stage over the Foxes in the Cup competition.

Kessye McAteer opened the floodgate for the visitors at Anfield after just 3 minutes into the clash as they held onto the lead for recess.

Liverpool responded three minutes after the break through Cody Gakpo after he was set up by Ryan Gravenberch.

Dominik Szoboszlai scored to put Liverpool in the lead in the 70th minute before Diogo Jota sealed victory for the Reds in the 89th minute after connecting ffrom Quansah’s assist.

Liverpool will now face Antoine Semenyo's AFC Bournemouth in the next round of the EFL Cup.

Meanwhile, compatriot Abdul Fatawu Issahaku came on late for the English championship side at Anfield.
