Dutch-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Jeremie Frimpong is on the verge of completing his move to German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, footballghana.com can report.

The talented youngster last year sealed a sensational move to Scottish giants Celtic after deciding to end his stay at Manchester City.

After leaving England, he excelled in the Scottish Premier League in his first year with many tipping him to go on to become a star in the near future.

With a continuous display of top form this season, Jeremie Frimpong has attracted interest and is set to leave Celtic in the January transfer window.

According to sources, he will sign for Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days with all parties involved having agreed to talks.

According to Celtic manager Neil Lennon, the club received an offer they could not turn down and hence the imminent departure of the full-back.

“We received a really robust offer for him. We are disappointed to lose him but that’s football,” the coach said as quoted by the Daily Record

This season, Jeremie Frimpong has provided two assists and scored one goal after making 22 appearances for Celtic.
